Program the DGC-2020 with easy to use front panel navigation keys and the large LCD display or with the enhanced BESTCOMSPlus PC software. Either way, the easy to follow menus make setup and configuration fast and simple. Within BESTCOMSPlus, we have provided a very powerful, user-friendly programmable logic program that allows the user to meet specifications that previously would have required an additional PLC to meet. BESTCOMSPlus is included at no additional cost and provides for remote communications, file transfer and file management. Request a copy online or check for software updates.

Contact Expansion for genset applications (via CEM-2020 Contact Expansion Module)

  • Adds 10 contact inputs and 24 form C contacts to the contact-rich DGC-2020 capability.
  • Communicates to the DGC-2020 via SAE J1939 Canbus
  • Use the same model DGC-2020 genset controller for simple applications or more complicated applications that require contact functionality or duplication of contacts for remote annunciation.

Analog Expansion for applications requiring analog inputs/outputs and temperature monitoring
(via AEM-2020 Analog Expansion Module)

  • Provides eight remote analog inputs, eight remote RTD inputs, two remote thermocouple inputs, and four remote analog outputs to the DGC-2020.
  • Communicates with the DGC-2020 through a CANbus interface.
  • The eight analog inputs are user-selectable for 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 Vdc, with under/over thresholds that you can configure as status only, alarm, or pre-alarm. Each can be selected and used in our powerful programmable logic software.
  • For temperature measurement, the AEM provides for eight RTD inputs that can be configured for 10 or 100 Ohm RTDs. It also has two inputs for K-type thermocouples.
  • Each of these ten temperature measurement inputs can be configured with high or low temperature thresholds and can be selected and used in our programmable logic software.
  • The analog outputs are user-selectable for 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 Vdc. These outputs are intended to drive external analog meters and can be configured for indication of a wide range of parameters, including oil pressure, fuel level, generator voltage, and bus voltage.

If your application requires remote annunciation of alarms to meet NFPA 110 requirements, the DGC products can communicate with the RDP-110 remote display panel up to 4,000 feet away with only 4 wires. For other system control devices, click here.
 

 

Discontinuation of DGC-500, DGC-1000 and DGC-2000 Digital Genset Controllers
 

With the introduction of the DGC-2020, a unit that offers better performance and functionality, combined with a disruption in our supply chain for some components used in the DGC-500, DGC-1000 and DGC-2000, Basler will no longer be able to offer them for sale.

Basler Electric has made every effort to make the transition from the older DGC products to the DGC-2020 as smooth as possible. The mounting hole dimensions are the same as these products and the locations for the interconnection wiring are in the same general areas. No special wire terminations are needed, just cut off the existing lugs, strip the wire and insert it in the new compression style connector. It really could not be simpler to transition to a new DGC-2020 that offers more value than the time proven DGC-500, DGC-1000 and DGC-2000 units.
